marlin barrel interchange

Can I put a 17HMR barrel on a 22WMR rifle? In many brands, the actions and clips are identical, and the only difference is the barrel. I want to make a 17HMR with a tube magazine, and Marlin doesn't have one, so I figured i'd try my luck at making my own by just buying a barrel. When i first took apart my marlin rimfire rifles, i noticed that the actions were designed to be the same for tube magazine or clip magazine. just change the stock, add a couple parts and viola! So I figured that the 17HMR's would fit in my 22WMR, and all i'd need was the different barrel.

    Hello I would rethink the tube magazine. I know this is a RIM FIRE but a tube mag and sharp bullet tip don't go together.
