12 ga. iver johnson

have a very old 12 ga. iver johnson muzzle loader-single shot shotgun found at gettysburg after battle-gun is broken but has an engraved name on it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  i would very much like to see pictures of this gun. iver johnson did not open his own manufacturing company until 1871 but he was working for the allen & wheelock co. during the civil war.
