.222 Rem 722 stock the same as a 700 SA

Will a stock for a short action Remington 700 fit a .222cal model 722?

  I THINK so,..but not sure. I beleive the rem722 and 721 were the predecessors to the 700 and have only minor changes, but someone else should be along to answer that.
  
  why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

  Remington M-700 ADL SA stock will fit. Will need to have inletting on stock done.
  Simple to do yourself in moments with a hand file, or knife. Lay action in stock trace around area of barrel where rear sight is and remove action and cut out traced section. Stock needs minor clearance for safety to slide back and forth.
  Magazine box may be tight but will fit with patience. Replace the triggerguard.
  If you want to go the BDL route with hinged triggerguard, use the BDL stock and locatea hinged floorplate (often seen on Gunbroker).

  That is not a problem at all as long as the barrel's were about the same.
  Very little if any inletting would be involved.
  I would highly reccomend that you glass it into the new stock for a good fit.
  
  Gun control is hitting what your aiming at.
