Serial # 2055 shows to have been made in 1912.
The first year of manufacture for the model 12 BTW.

The only thing I can figure is that there are actually more than 4 digits in the Serial #,or that run of "Limited Edition" Model 12's doesn't show up in my source.

If it is an original 20 gauge slide action (pump) Winchester with serial number 8003, then it should be marked "MODEL 1912" versus "MODEL 12", and it should have a 25-inch barrel that is chambered for 2-1/2-inch shells. Do you have a specific question[?]
