11-87 Trap. Adding a Safety?
How hard or expensive would it be to add a safety to a Remington 11-87 Premier Trap/Skeet shotgun? I don't shoot in competition so a safety wouldn't handicap me any. I just like the idea of having a safety on a shotgun.

I guess I never heard of a new shotgun with out a safety, but I'm willing to learn something new. I'll bet the lawyers love that one
The trigger mechinism will change over from most all the semi autos from remington.

The safety on a trap/skeet/clays gun is that the weapon is empty and OPEN until your about to fire. Than you only load one shell for each bird your going to see on the call (IE 1 for standard trap, 2 for doubles trap).
In practice (on a trap field) you put 1 shell into the chamber as the man 2 stations to your left is calling his bird, than close the action as the man 1 station to your left is calling his bird (this keeps the game moving). In skeet you wait until your on the station, than load 2, call your singles than load 2 and call for the double. Station 8 you load 1 and call. Clays is like skeet, in that you wait until your on the station than load the approperate # (1 or 2) shells.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0
