Ostheim .22 revolver, is this junk?

H. Schmidt Ostheim/Roehn model 22. Looks like a clone of a Colt Single Action army wheelgun.

German made (how bad could that be?) but the price is low enough to make me think its a piece of crap.

Is it?

  They weren't quality handguns. Sold for less then $100, when they were imported in the 60's & 70's. Rohm is long out of the firearms business. Unless it's NIB condition, at a giveaway price, avoid it.

  My experience with Rohm guns is that Rohm makes good drill chucks and toolroom related goods...but they revolvers are junks or ?Saturday Night Specials? versions....
  Be aware of German guns at low prices as long as they are not intented as serious quality weapons.

  i use an old EIC single action cowboy 22 for camping. the plastic grip plates are cheap. the frame is alloy, but, the lock up and action are ok. good plinker. its been in the family for years.

  Yes , it is a close clone of the colt , but Not of the same quality . We have sold a couple (& "smithed" ) on a few of these .. not bad plinkers for the approppiate price...If you end up with it and decide not to keep it let us know , we have amarket 4 this stuff ..
