Charles Daly Semi Auto Shotguns??

The new Charle Daly line of autos being sold at Wal Mart seem like a great value, but I don't know anyone that can give me any feedback. Do these guns have a reputation, and what is it? Are they reliable, and what factory produces them?

    I bought a maxi-mag on auction about $30 less than wally world. Had feed problems at first with 2 3/4" field loads. Ejected fine but hung up with the shell halfway in the chamber. Sprayed some oil in the mechanism and seemed to clear it up. I've shot less than a box of shells through it, though.

    It isn't a super high quality gun. If I'd known I could look one over at WM I probably wouldn't have bid on it. It is an auto less than $300 and works OK.

    basically howa style imports with a charles daly name stamped on them. not your top of the line gun.

    Had one for about 5 years now,had feed problems right off the jump,sent it back to them with no ?,s asked by them,shot several cases thru it crow hunting and dove shooting,no problems since.For the money not a bad shotgun.My 2 cents worth anyway[^]

    Thanks for the input guys. I am trying to advise two of my friends that are coming with my son and I on a father / son duck hunt next January. My son is a lefty so he has no choice but to shoot a pump, as there is no such thing as a left handed 20 gauge gas operated auto. I steered my buddies towards the Chales Daly because it seemed to fit the need. They make a sharp looking 20 gauge youth model thats a pound lighter and $250.00 cheaper than the 1187 Remington. How long did it take to get yours back from the factory, rotten?

    About 3 weeks if memory in this old head still works,main thing about it was they asked for no paperwork at all ,stated that if it had there name on it ,it was covered for life of gun,dont know if thats still the same or not,but it works for me!

    Know a couple people who have them, and for the money pretty well liked overall. Only problem I heard was there was a plastic part in the action that broke for one guy, but it was replaced no questions asked. They also said he was a goose hunter who hunted a lot, shot only magnum loads and even he said he didn't baby it. That was also the first year out, so they probably have that corrected, if it showed up at all. Not a Bennelli, but doesn't cost a grand , either.
