Stevens Little Scout Assembly

I have a Stevens Little Scout, Model 14&1/2 that will not fire consistently. I have replaced the firing pin and am trying to replace the hammer spring with a stronger one. There is a small diameter rod attached to the breech block, and a tube attached to the hammer, and both of these are supposed to fit together inside the hammer spring. I have not been able to assemble these parts and get them back into the reciever. Does anyone know the proper procedure for reassembly of these parts into the reciever? I have looked on several internet search engines and have not found any information as to takedown or assembly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello, I have experienced the same problem with a Stevens Little scout. You have to assemble all the parts outside the receiver, fit the rod inside the pivoting sleeve, and after some attempts you will find a skillfull way to place them inside, just don`t quit! Replace the side screw and be sure your rifle has enough power on the spring. I had misfires by a soft spring also. It is a nice old rifle...I wish you enjoy it as much as me. Luck.
