Ruger P944TH ....How to....

I just purchased a Ruger P944TH and cant seem to disassemble it based on the owners manual [:(!] Are there any good sites or information on the "How to's...." for my firearm? I think I'm getting stuck when it has me push down and forward on the "Extractor". I do this based on the exploded view in the back of the book, but fail to get the slide off.

Any info will be appriciated!

    I had a P-89 years back. If it is similar to your pistol? Its the "Ejector" that has to be pushed forward and down to field strip the pistol. Try locking the slide back, push the Ejector down into the magazine recess with the eraser end of a pencil.

    My P90 disassembles the same way. Just push the ejector down, then pull the slide stop partially out while you are pulling the slide back. You will figure it out, its easy, just keep trying.

    Thanks for the reply,

    I pushed the ejector down as far as it will go, move the slide forward and push the slide lock outward from the right side, I then slid the slide stop practically out of the firearm, the slide moves forward and stops in the resting position, doesn't slide off.

    I noticed in the manual it states that if you don't perform this step the slide will not come off....is there any indication that you've put the ejector in the right position prior to moving the slide forward? I'm assuming that when it stops that's as far as it goes...

    With my P-94, I push the ejector down first, then move the slide back to line up the take down lines. Make sure those are lined up properly. If the slide is back all the way, they are not. Then push the slide hold back button/lever out. Once it clears, the slide should come off with no problem. I first took mine to a gun shop and they showed me in seconds how to do what it took me a long time to figure out. Hope this helps.
