Win 94 action hang-up?
I've got a Win 94...when you pull the lever to cock the hammer back it seems as though when the bolt is completely back (lever completely forward) the hammer pushes up on the back of the bolt putting pressure on it and throwing off the angle of the bolt. It tilts the rear of the bolt upward making it hang up on the grooves in the receiver. I can manually hold the hammer further down and the action works smooth. It is like the hammer is not staying all the way down where it should be. Any ideas?? Thanks

how old is the rifle (pre-64, post 64, post 80 (angle eject))? 0 -
post 1964...no AE...I believe it was manufactured in the early 1990's possible late 80's 0 -
the bolt should not have this much 'slop', either the bolt 'rails' are worn or the slots in the receiver are worn (or both). the bolt has to cam the hammer back and the hammer will push the bolt 'up', this is normal. you may need a new bolt and/or receiver, time to go see your local gunsmith. 0
