Nickel Steel Vs. Proof Steel

I'm doing a school project on the durability, strength, value, and looks of Nickel Steel Barrels for Shotguns vs. Regular blued Proof steel. I was curious if anybody had any info on this. Thx

  Winchester switched from nickel steel to proof steel on their firearms in 1930...The proof steel was easier to machine, easier to blue, and stronger...The nickel steel marked gun are of more interest to collectors and hence usually will bring a higher price than a proof steel marked gun with like dimensions and in the same condition.
