I want to build or have built a bolt action 50 BMG.
Any views on actions, barrels, and brakes. Will be used for target.

  Bullets don't become incendiary; they are what they are made to be.
  
  Incendiary bullets have a barium/aluminum compound in the front; when they strike a hard object they ignite. I am not aware that any .50 BMG rounds are designed to be incendiary; this caliber is primarily used to penetrate hardened targets or to engage targets are long range.

  The 50 BMG cartridge is (was) loaded with the M1 (incendiary), M8 (armor piercing incendiary), M20 (armor piercing incendiary tracer) and the M23 (incendiary).

  Thanks for the answer. Exactly what I was looking for. There is a fellow selling pulled API (silver tip) 50 bmg bullets on ebarf. I was looking for some cheap bullets to load for my M2HB. The only problem is as dry as the desert is I do not want to start any fires.
