Mauser 98K and Scopes: Dialytan 4x

Does anybody knows how a Dialytan 4X can be mounted in a Mauser 98k?
or where can I get information on the[:)] scopes?
I just got one, won the bid on EBAY, if you want to see it, go to EBAY,Item #6523823831!!

    The scope is the easy part. If you want to duplicate the orginal German Military scope mounted 98 k, you will have to obtain either original "Mounts" or modern reproductions. They used various different mounts over the years. Some were soldered to the receiver and other were mechanical, that were attached by screws and locating pins.

    There are a substantial number of books available that cover Mauser Military Rifles in general, and the various models that were equipped with different types of telescopic sights.

    have a gunsmith drill and tap the receiver for current production bases. They have a jig that attaches to the action, and they drill 4 holes and tap them, then use current style rings. If 26.5mm rings are an odd size, then buy smaller dia rings and have the smith bore them to correct size. I know it's not original, but much more functional[;)]

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    Years back I was able to buy one of those old pre W W II European scopes at a good price. The reason I was able to get it so cheaply is that there was't any internal windage adjustments in the scope.

    I had to buy some special external adjustments mounts fron Manard Bueller before I was able to use the scope on Winchester 670.

    If that scope you bought on fleabay is similar, i.e. without internal windage adjustments, it might be a difficult and expensive proposition to get the correct mounts for the 98 k?

    I just recently put a long eye relief (pistol) scope on my sons M48. 4x but FOV is good and there is a lot of light. In the sighting in, and a return trip, the mount replacing the original rear sight held zero fine. I must admit though, it was not a rough trip to the range for the second firing.

    What luck have you others had in this 'replacement' type of scope mount.
