Win M-12 - End of production run

Always seems to be interest in a gun with a low serial number. How would being one of the last in a production run affect the price? Would this add or detract from the value of a nearly perfect specimen?

  Hello m.j.ryan: Well a lot has to do with what grade it is, Field,Skeet,Trap, Pigeon? Since production didn't actually stop in 1964, and about 20,000 guns were assembled between 1965-1971. With most of them being anything but a palin barrel field gun. Gauge plays important factor too! All in all, it will command some premium. 20 years ago I paid top dollar at the time for a Md 12 that wasmade in late 1963, hense a pre-64. Nothing special about the gun but it was one of the last pre-64s!! To a serious winchester lover, it's worth something!! Regards Dave
