Rem. 870 slug barrel

I possess an older Remington 870 Wingmaster in 20 gauge. The barrel band that goes over the shell tube is approximately .920 inches in diameter which is bigger then the the present day 20 ga. 870's. My question is: is there available or was there ever a slug barrel or an improved cylinder barrel manufactured for these older 870's? If so, where could one be obtained?

  yes on both counts , the one in my safe has a 26" imp cyl. on it , its just a plain barrel no vent rib. I did have a slug barrel for it but sold it all ready , exttra barrels are out there you just have to find them and be willing to pay the price when you do , because they usually go fairly high
