hi-power scope under $200

anyone know of a good hi power scope for varmint/target shooting? 12 being the minimum (variable)

    BSA makes an 8-32 mil dot for around $109, it isn't 12x, but it has high magnification.

    ihave a 8x32x50mm bsa on my 22-250 rem 700 varmint and really llke it...

    do u think that could handle the recoil of a .243? ive never shot one so i dont know what the recoils like.

    my buddy bought one and has it on his 7mm remington ultra mag, so far no problems whatsoever with recoil and the scope holding zero... if it can take that abuse i'd think it would be a safe bet to say that it'll handle a .243..

    Bushnell Banner 6-18x50mm A/O. Costs around $175, its very clear and bright, excellent low light visibility. It has handled the recoil of my 300wsm with out a problem yet. (Piece of cake for a .243)

    Dido's on the Bushnell Banner. They also make a Trophy in a 6-18 for $220. That would be a real good scope as well. Probably a little better glass than the Banner, but also about $50 more. Also check out the Simmons Atec, which sells for around $150, and is a good quality for the money invested.

    does anyone here know relatively most of the companys that make bullet drop comps in their scopes? i havent found many of them.

    My brother has a Leatherwood B.D.C scope, I don't remember most of what I've read about it, but he is VERY happy with it! I personally do not own one. Depending on what you shoot, calober and specific load the compensator may or may not match the ballistics of the rifle. If you shot "custom" loads or a wildcat caliber, chances are you WILL NOT have much use for a B.D.C. scope. Just my $.02
