Recommendations regarding S&W 1911PD
Smith & Wesson MSW 1911PD .45 ACP 4.25" barrel with Crimson Trace laser grips. Pricey-yes. Interesting, fits in the hands well, seems to be calling to me.....

I have had the chance to fire two of them. Was not impressed with them at all. For the money I would rather own a Kimber any day. 0 -
I just a new 4.25 in. 1911pd. Went out yester and 100 rounds thru it. This gun is well balanced and shoots right on for me. At 25 yards it was on target. Smith is doing something right with this model. I like the scandium.The gun is well balanced in the hand. I kind of like the finish also, but I don't like a heavy painted on like finish. Who else has experience with this piece? I would like to hear. I should say I traded a Kimber ultra tactical on this. Also recieved some ammo to make up the difference. I have a Kimber pro raptor 4.25 that I REALLY like. Just seem to like 4.25 inchers. 0 -
S&W is, as you know, one of the premier gun manufacturers in the world, with out question. That being said, they are "New" to the 1911 market, as opposed to a bunch of the other manufactures out there, ie. Kimber, Springfield, Colt, Para Ordabce, Wilson Combat, and least but not less, Les Baur.
You won't spend the money for the S&W that you would for say, the Kimber, or the Les Baur, but you can not buy a better made, nor better functioning pistol than the Les Baur, or the Wilson Combat.
Just a thought to ponder, when making your decision. I guess it always comes down to money! How much you have, as opposed to how much you can spend.

It did more than just call out to me... took it home today and put the first fifty rounds through it... I agree with hogflats regarding how well it shoots...
