I WAS WANTING TO FIND OUT THE YEAR THIS GUN WAS MADE AN THE VALUE IT HAS ORIGINAL WOOD GRIPS EX CONDITION. GUN IS A 98%OR 99%. THE SERIAL NUMBER IS 42471 THATS THE ONLY NUMBER I CAN FIND AN ITS UNDER GRIPS NO BOX 22 REVOLVER

    check to see if way to the left of your serial number to see if there is a "K"... If so you have a model 18 K-22 made in 1948

    When you say under the grips ,do you mean the bottom of the butt? because that's the number you want .You'll also find it on the crane when you open the cylinder.[:)]
