Value Govt. National Match Rework

Folks: I have a Rem. Rand US PROPERTY , BBl and bbl bushing marked NM.Frame marked SA right side,FJA left side.NM over large 2 stamped top of right trigger guard. Laminated wood finger grooved target grips.Bomar sights.Front of pistol's handle precisley checkered.Please help me determine a value.Should I put it in my safe and sit on it or trade for an original 1911a1? Thankyou,Tommy

    Hello This pistol could have been a Match pistol made for the Mil. shooting teams and for loan and/or sale at Camp Perry before the gun control act of 1968. At that time you could go to the national matches and check out a match pistol for the matches and then either buy it or return. What some people did was to check out a pistol and strip it of the correct match parts and put their match parts in the pistol and return it as a BUBBA gun .. The fact that it has Bomar sights does not bode well as it being a real NATIONAL MATCH as they came with MICRO or KENSIGHT. IF it is a true match pistol it is worth quite a bit of money but a gun with JUST match parts is worth less then an ORGINAL mil. issue contact me and I will help you on if it is indeed correct.
