10/22 refin. ?
received beat to death 10/22 from co-worker for free that he wrecked his 4-wheeler with it on it. receiver is the only thing that came out o.k. but needs to be refinished. going to put on a s.s. bull on it along with a fajen stock. question is how to refinish the al. receiver to match stainless steel. was thinking brushed al. but dont now how to do that myself. thanks

There are two ways to do this on aluminum.
#1-- Brownells Aluma Hyde that will cure in about 10-14 days and it's very resistant to abrasion.
#2- Brownells Baking Laquer that will cure in about 1/2 hour in your oven at 300 degrees, also very good on wearing ability.
Both processes require a very clean part to begin with.
Follow the instructions and you will be very happy with the results.
These are available in Ruger Stainless Steel Gray, and a regular stainless
steel color.
They also have a matte clear I like to use, by just bead blasting the receiver
and painting it with clear baking laquer it will look very nice.

what i did too my black reciever was too bead blast it, then sprayed a clear paint over it.turned out really nice.for great info on the 10/22 and other rimfires check out www.rimfirecentral.com great site.don 0 -

i had one electroless nickeled...turned out sweet, sort of a matte silver finish and has really stood up to wear and tear. 0
