.32 H & R Magnum.
Does anyone know where I can get .32 H & R Magnum ammo. Seems to be scarce today.
How does it compare to a .38 spcl?

To the best of my knowledge, Federal is the only company that still makes it. Mail order outfits ( Midway, Graf, etc. ) still have it listed in their catalogs.
Do to lack of available ammo and anemic loads as compared to the 38 Special " Plus P Loads", it never achieved a following. The only saving grace, is that revolvers chambered for it are able to function with 32 S & W Long ammo that is readily available.

As far as compareing to 38 spl. it is just a little les power factor then 38 spl. And yes federal still makes it. Try one of your local gun stores or a gun show.

As Rufe Snow said, the .32 magnum will fire .32 S&W short, Long and even .32 ACP since the ACP is semi-rimmed. I routinely fire .32 Long in mine but have fired all the above at times

The diameter is same. Mine is accurate with .32 Long. I shot a crow out of a tree about 40 yards away year before last from tractor seat with a .32 Long. The full house .32 Mags make a lot of noise so I prefer the .32 Long. I use my .32 Mag as a tractor/truck gun for snakes and stray dogs. We live in the sticks and two legged varmints dump stray dogs here all the time. I hate to kill them but no choice. At one time there was a pack of about 15 strays running together. Rough on my cows.
