Nickel Govt Mk IV 70's. Buy/Pass?

This bright nickel plated Govt Model Mk IV is a 70 Series in very good condition with a little rust on the grip safety and trigger. Other than that it's really nice. It has rubber grips, no box or papers.The asking price is $375 plus tax. Is this a god buy or a pass? I paid a small deposit to hold it a few days till I decide. Suggestions?

    Blue Book value on it is around $400 with less than 50% finish.
    I say jump on it.

    I would say $375 plus tax for an original 70 series Colt in "really nice" condition is a pretty good buy. The key word is "original." That is, the nickel is factory and the feed ramp has not been modified.

    In any condition less than perfect, it does not qualify as a collectable gun. It will be a gun to use.

    Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword obviously never encountered automatic weapons.

    If it is a nice 70 series,you can't go wrong at that price plus the way Colt prices go up it's a pretty good investment.

    Thanks for your comments. The nickel appears to be original and there aren't any modifications that I noticed except the replacement grips. I wanted this one as a carry piece so I don't care about a little wear. I think I will go ahead on the purchase tomorrow, give it a good cleaning, new grips, and see how it shoots.

    Thats a terrific deal. I have seen these go for $600 to $700 at the auctions I attend.

    I would buy all I could get at that price.

    I'd buy... But then I'm out of control... is there some kind of pill for excessive wheeling and dealing.

    If there was such a pill, I'd take it every day. Got the Colt at lunch today. It cleaned up to about 90-95% condition. I am extremely happy I bought it. While I was there I saw a Winchester Model 25 pump shotgun. Of course it had to make the trip home as well. Where's that pill??? Thanks for all the replies. It made my decision very easy.
