M16A2 or M4 rifle scope recommendation

I'd like your expert recommendation on a rifle scope that can be used on either an M16A2 or an M4 rifle. Targets at 200m and closer are still clear, however, beyond that range they've gotten fuzzy in the last 10 years (I'll be 41 this June). I'm in the US Army and enroute to Korea this summer. As things are heating up between the US and North Korea (as well as China), I'd like to take with me a decent rifle scope should things turn "hot." However, I don't have an endless supply of funds so I can't consider something like a $500 scope. I've already checked with my future commander in Korea - he has no problem with my adding a scope to an M16 or M4 rifle.

    why would you be putting your own scope on a weapon that is not 'technically' not yours?? actually, not even sure if you can do that. im just speaking from my experience when i was overseas. again the marine corps and the army have different rules and whatnot. good luck and stay safe in korea.

    go to the rifle range with a marine corps unit....they'll get you dialed in at 500yds...open sights. [;)][:D]

    Daniel, I'm absolutely sure your Commander would have some sort of a fit if you used any sort of your personal equipment on "his" weapons. I never had any trouble hitting what I was aiming at with my M16A2 with ironsights at 300 meters and under. Sounds like you need new glasses.

    BTW, Korea sucked for me.
