What does STW stand for?

A friend asked what the STW stands for on the 7mm STW, so I figured I would ask here. Thanks in advance.

    There's also a Shooting Times Alaskin (STA)

    STW is Shooting Times Westerner.It is a 8mm remington
    mag necked down to 7mm.

    well according to GWB it is "SHOOT THE WICKED" To which I can find little wrong with that logic.

    History aside, the RUM has much greater potential in the fact that the case capacity is some 20% more. It also will lend itself to better accuracy due to the rebated rim case with 40 degree shoulder, as opposed to the belted STW with it's 25 degree shoulder.

    I agree that the 7mm is faster and is inherantly accurate. I owned one before and so did my cousin. Mine shot a 1" group with factory ammo while his shot a 1/4" group. There are minus's as well being as I can get a huge variety of factory 7mm STW ammo. As I don't handload, I have almost no ammo choices for my 7mm Ultra (I think remington only list 1 type now). I do plan on having some handloads done for this gun by a local gunsmith. I bought the dies last week and already have about 140 brass.
    My choice was made for me on buying it as it was the only Sako 75 S/S they had left at clearance price ($699 and a free Burris landmark spotter). I think it was an excellent price on a great rifle and I would gladly do it over butI would have taken the STW if it was available. Mostly for the ease of buying ammo.
