Interarms Whitworth Express Rifle

Could anyone give me an idea of the value of a Interarms Whitworth Express rifle in 458 Win. Mag caliber? Condition is 98%. Has anyone owned or know of the quality of these rifles? Thanks in advance.

    I couldn't give you a value but I did own one in 375 many years ago. They were never a real expensive gun but I thought they were of decent quality. It's a basic Mauser action so certainly nothing wrong with that. Mine had a very English looking stock with drop set up mostly for the use of the express sights but it didn't work bad with a low powered scope either. Intresting enough....for me it held extremely well to shoot off hand with and I did some of my best shooting with it. it shot quite well when I bench tested it to find a load for it. So price I can't tell you but mine worked without a glitch ever.

    These rifles in that caliber have been bringing from $450 to $700 on the auction for the last year. Most of them looked to be in pretty good shape as they probably don't get a lot of firing. I was following them because I wanted a .458. I ended up getting a CZ. Still, for the money they seemed like pretty good buys.

    I recently bought a 100% Whitworth Express in .375 H&H. It's probably one of the most underrated bargains on the market. A quality Mauser magnum action, reasonable barrel length, express sights, barrel band sling swivel, classic stock style and beautiful finish. All of this for $600. Remington has a similar Mauser on the market today, but not with the beautiful classic walnut stock or metal finish for considerably more money. I couldn't be more pleased with it and it is my primary hunting rifle here in Alaska.

    I have to agree with cepapp. I bought one, 375 H&H, a few years ago for a little less than $500. I consider it one of my better buys for the money.
