New Bead Advice
I just bought a Spartan O/U 28 guage, but I'm not real thrilled with the bead sight. Does anybody have a some advice on what kind of new sight to mount on the rib that is functional as well as give the gun a little more attractiveness?

A gunsmith can mount almost any bead you like (you may be able to do it as well). Brownell's probably has what you need. Ivory (or immitation ivory) is common as are "gold" beads. 0 -
Hadjii, I have a O/U almost identical to the Spartan(EAA)and I put a set of HiViz fiber optic sights on it. Alot of counties here in Virginia allow shotgun only deer hunting and I wanted a better sight system. The set came with a front and rear sight that mounts onto the rib. The front has magnets and the rear attachs with screws. I was concerned about the front sight coming off from recoil, but the magnets are so strong you can barely get it off by hand. Being a 28 ga. you are probably using it for bird hunting, so you would only want the front sight. It is around $15. Worth a look.

You can't beat the Hi-Viz for function, price, and installation. Just stick it on, VERY strong magnets assure it won't come off even in heavy brush. It goes right behind the existing bead.
Measure the width of the rib to get the right model number and fit. Wal-Mart carries them too.
