What model ( Smith & Wesson )?
38, 4" revolver, no model number, s/n D562346. After 1958 they stamped model # on them. Thank you, Jeronimo.

According to the S & W book. It can be either one of these (4) models.
10, 12, 13 or 14. Without pictures or a better physical description it's impossible to say which one? It was made during the 1973/74 time frame. Why it's not marked inside the yoke with the model number, is another question?

Just rechecked the serial number range given in the S & W Book. D510001 to D659901 is the S.N range, for the years 1973/74. IF the serial number "D562346" you gave in your first post is correct? It should be marked inside the yolk with the model number. If it's not, it's either been removed for some reason?, or it got out of the factory somehow without the model number?0 -
Even allowing for poor stamping or eyesight where a D looks like a C that would still be 1961-62
As for models, maybe you can eliminate it with the following:`
Model 14 has adjustable sights
Model 13 is a 357 mag. (Excluding USAF M-13, 38 spec. alloy frame Air Crewman which would be marked clearly on the barrel)
Model 12 is an Airweight M&P
Model 10 is a steel frame M&P in either blue or nickle finish
Odds are it's the latter, a Model 10
Why there is no model number w/ the s/n info. you provided is beyond me. However, for $30 you can get a letter from S&W that will give you the details about your revolver and if it is actually one that made it out of the factory w/o a model designation, with the letter, if it's in any kind of shape at all it will have more value with the letter than without.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0
