old 30-06

I have some ols 30-06 ammo in brass stripper clips. The back is marked FA 41. Understand it was made in 1941. Anyone know what the FA stands for. Sure it is corrosive....

  It is corrosive but if stored properly should shoot just fine. I shot some FA 42 a couple weeks ago and it went bang. If you shoot it make sure you clean the bore with some hot soapy water to dissolve and remove the salts left from the primers. Salt is hydroscopic and will attract moisture. By cleaning with water you remove the salts. Then use standard bore cleaners to remove the copper fouling as normal.
