How can I verify if a buyer has a C&R license?

    do you mean before an auction ends? I'm not sure however, if he wins the auction (and you may know this) you hold the item until payment and a copy of his c&r signed in red or blue ink arrives. hope this helps.

    Sherwin is correct. But, if you mean, is there a way to verify the license through EZ-check at BATFE, the answer is "NO". You could do this when they first released the system, but some C&R holders complained that their privacy was violated, so they no longer allow it.

    Personally, I verify C&R licenses my own way. I check the sellers drivers license (eyeball or photocopy), or verify address through an online directory like www.anywho.com .

    You can call the National Licensing Center in Atlanta and they will verify the validity of the license and the premesis address.

    win62: I have a C/R license. Why do you need to verify? As a seller, you can not legally ship the item until a signed in ink copy of a C/R license is received. Then, you are supposed to ship only to the address listed on the lic. Why the need to "verify"? Thanks.

    Because someone could VERY easily fake and copy a C&R. There are people making pretty good fake money orders on home computers now. A fake document is very easy to do[V]
