Scope value

BOBBYWINS
I have a Simmons 2.5-7x28 Model # 22002.

Satin silver,has some ring marks,but otherwise in good shape.

I took it off my Slabside and now I've got a guy interested in it,but I have no idea what a fair price would be.

Any help is appreciated,

    I'll give you $5.00(about what's it's worth) if you'll throw it away and buy something else, I absolutely HATE Simmons. I personally have never owned one, but, everyone I know who has owned one has had trouble or found them simply inferior! I've never known anybody to purchase a 2nd Simmons scope.

    Wanted Man you are right, I own one and it lasted about 200 rounds tops on a .223 and it went back to the factory, not even sure it was worth spending the $10 ship and handle charges, should have tossed it. All my real scopes are Leupold and Burris.

    the only simmons i have ever had are good scopes. 30-06 with 18 1/2 barrel 10 yrs later still works like when it was new. has been beat around a truck and tractor and has never failed yet. in my opinion leupolds are trash unless you get an old model. the one i had wouldn't stand up to recoil, so i sold it and bought an elite 4200. no problems since getting rid of that leupold trash.

    For my money it will only be a Leupold!! Got 5 of them. Best quality for the buck, Zeiss, SchmitBender on the top end and Tasco, Bushnell on the low end Leupold is just right for most working mans budget. Redfield is a fine scope too. Had 1 simmons and it was the last!!

    If it is fully functional you should be able to sleep at night if you ask half of new. Not like you can send it back to Leupold and have them fix it free(or can you?) Anyway they are still selling on the new market so someone must be buying them.

    A friend of mine send back a simmons 4x and they sent him a brand new 3x9 one no cost.

    Wanted Man, I think you're all wet. I have a $30 Simnmons 4X mounted on my Remington 700 Muzzleloader, and it works perfectly. Granted, Leupold, Burris, and the other high end scopes are better scopes, but not everybody in the world can afford these high end scopes. Other people aren't trying to impress every tom, dick, and harry with their equipment, but they can shoot lights out with what they have. simmons are adequate scopes for the money. Same goes for Bushnell. I had a 4X scope mounted on a marlin dirty-30 when I was stationed at Fort Polk, La. One day I dropped that gun out of the tree from 30 feet, and when I got back to where I was staying back in the swamp, that gun still knocked the center out of a 4" stick on target at 75 yards, and that's good enough for any whitetail deer.

    Just had to inject my 2 cents here. I have at least five Simmons scopes, from every range you can imagine, have shot them on every caliber that you can imagine, from 22 LR to 300 Weatherby Mag, and I have not had any problems what-so-ever, with any of them!
    I will be the first to admit, they are by no means the best scope out there, in any catagory, but for the money spent, you will be hard pressed to find a better scope!
