Benelli M-1 / Nova
My wife bought me a Benelli M-1 for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. 12 ga, Left handed, in Black Synthetic. I do everything right handed except shoot a gun (go figure!)! My M-1 B is my Favorite Gun (I have 10) and I have yet to miss a live bird (pheasants), although I have missed a few clays. I love the way it shoots and carries in the field.
Last night at my first DU Banquet I won a Binelli Nova 12ga Synthetic here in Manitowoc County Wisconsin. My new son-in law (who also shoots left handed) just won the same gun in Stevens Point, WI last week. This Nova just does not feel like my M-1, plus it is right handed, and I hate the safety location. I am tempted to sell or trade it for a LH Rem 870 (I already have a very old Wingmaster Righty that I also love) or a Browning BPS. This Nova is my first gun that can shoot a 3.5 " shell. Do not really need 3.5 for anything I hunt, but just something to have I guess... Before I give up on it a couple questions:
#1 Will my M-1 choke tubes fit the Nova, almost looks like they would?
#2 Could I have the Safety switched over on the Nova for Left-hand use? One local gunsmith told me he would not do it for "Safety and Liability" reasons (on a Browning Gold I almost bought).
#3. The manual on the Nova describes a Recoil Reduction System you can buy and put in the stock. Is this basically the same system as as in my M-1? Is it worth the time, money, and effort? How much is it and where do you get one?
I'll probaby keep it for at least a while. It was neat winning it, I guess just disappointed I am not as pleased with it as I am my M-1. All your information is appreciated! Thanks!

I don't think I'll ever own any other pump thats not a Nova. Its reliable and will work in the worst possible conditions. I can't answer your question about the chokes being interchangable (though if they screw in and are the same lenth, they'll probably work) I also dont know if you can switch the safty to LH. You can purchase the recoil reducer from must about any gun shop that carries Benelli. Its really a great shotgun and will do anything you need it to (Nova holds the world speed record for a pump gun). I personally like mine better then the 870, did you ever think of possibly trading it for a LH Nova?

Dido's on what the previous person said about the Nova. The Nova is an awesome pump gun. I wouldn't own a pump shotgun that didn't say
Benelli Nova on it. I believe all Benelli choke tubes are the same, and the recoil reduction system can be purchased at most reputable gunshops. I would think the safety could be changed over. As far as a left handed Nova goes, I don't know that they make one. I mean they might, but being right handed, I just don't think about left handed guns much.0 -

As for the chokes - they're standard for Benelli and should be interchangeable.
Don't do anything that I've allready done - That'd be just plain STOOOOOOPID.
