beretta 92 fs....good investment?

i've been eyeing this pistol over evertime i'm in my local gunshop. it's a Beretta 92 fs stainless. It's new, and he's asking $580 for it, is it worth the money?

    If you keep your eyes open, you might find a Colt 1991 stainless for about the same, or a few dollars more.

    Depending on tax and transfer cost, it might be a few dollars less on GB.

    If you are asking about price, you could probably do a little better, but that is pretty average for the stainless. If you are talking about the model...I would never sell mine. Had it for 6 years.

    Definatly not an investment, shooter yes but look for one for less money.

    As far as I am concerned, you can not find a better made hand gun, than the Bretta FS. I have had mine for over ten years, and have shot the hell out of it, it has never failed to preform, under any conditions, using any ammo available!
    The other responses mentioned different caliber guns, and different styles of guns, and they are great guns also, but you asked about the Bretta, and if you decide to buy it, you will never be sorry. It will never be worth less money than you paid for it, and will probably be worth more as time goes on. Great gun, and very reliable!

    Most modern (current manufacture) are NOT investments! Buy them, shoot them, enjoy them. In 10 years, you'll likely get your money out of it if you choose to sell it. But this is not a collectible that you would buy for appreciation. The $580 price is close enough to the best deal you're going to find, and you certainly want a local dealer for after sales support. Great guns and fun to shoot!

    I'd suggest you try the Beretta if you haven't fired one. My brother has a stainless fs and I've fired it often. I just can't get used to the safety. I only have Colts so it's a personal preference, but it's disconcerting to have the safety work the opposite way-again, at least to me. He, incidentally, loves his Beretta and has put well over 1K rounds downrange. The price seems a little high, but maybe the guy'll come down some. -Asa

    The 92 F is an excellent combat-type TDA autoloader, but is not a "collectible", sans a few of the limited guns. $580 is about $50 less than what you would normally pay for a brand new Inox 92. I have one (the "United We Stand" commemorative in Inox) and I love it. That said, Beretta's are a little on the pricy side for TDA 9mm guns. But they are worth the money.

    It's easy to spot liberals-they are the ones who have no assets to protect and need every handout they can get. They have forbeyed themselves ascendence to a productive lifestyle.
