I HAVE A MODEL 11 REMINGTON 12 GA 30 INCH FULL CHOKE BARREL,SERIAL NUMBER IS 368337 IT ALSO HAS REP AND A ANCHOR ON THE BARREL.CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW OLD IT IS AND WHAT REP AND A ANCHOR MEANS.DOES IT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE NAVY?IT ALLSO HAS BROWNING PATENTS OCT 9 1900.DEC 17 01,SEPT 30 02. JUNE 16 03.FEB 13 06.ON THE BARREL.THANKS BRIDGEBUILDER41

    Actually,there's a "date code" on the left side of the bbl.,just in front of the reciever.Look for a 2 or 3 digit code(pretty small.A magnifying glass may come in handy if your like me.).With that,I/We can help.

    The Serial No. provided indicates a 1929 manufacturing date.
    The anchor has absolutely nothing to with Naval usage. The same
    anchor mark has been observed on some of the Model 51 pistols. Meaning unknown to me. As suggested, the gun may also be dated
    by a two or three letter code on the barrel-only if the barrel is original to the receiver.
