Garand bore & throat numerical rating

I did not find info in a search. I have noticed bore and throat erosion 'numerical ratings' in some (Garrand) pieces on auction.
Would someone take the time to enlighten me. I would appreciate it.

  The bore of an M1 is nominally .300"; deviation from that of .001" would be 1.0 on a gauge, but the actual measurement of the bore would be .301". What we are measuring is how large the bore has become on either end from wear or improper cleaning.
  
  Muzzle wear is read with a muzzle wear gauge. A new barrel will be ~ MW=1.0 to 2.0. If MW=2.0 to 3.0, wear is moderate but it should be fine for informal shooting & close range hunting. Beyond MW=3.0, accurate shooting will not be possible.
  
  Throat erosion is measured at a specified distance from the breech with a throat erosion gauge. New barrels are usually TE=1.0 to 2.0. The US military replaces barrels when TE>5.0, although barrels are safe (& often accurate) up to TE=10.0.
