OLD 870 REMINGTON WINGMASTER
I HAVE A OLD WINGMASTER,IT HAS THE ROUNDED FOREND,LIKE A WINCHESTER MODEL 12,SERIAL NUMBER IS 561364V.IT IS A 12 GA.30 INCH FULL CHOKE,FOR 2 3/4 SHELLS OR SHORTER.HOW OLD IS THIS GUN.IT ALLSO HAS MODEL 870TB ON IT,WHAT DOES TB MEAN.THANKS BRIDGEBUILDER41.

BB... The 870TB was made from 1950 to 1981. It was a trap gun, the TB reference may be for "trap barrel".
They were made with 28" or 30" vent rib barrels.

Usually the B of the TB is for the wood grade, and that doesn't mean B grade wood. I had a SB, for skeet, and it had some of the nicest wood I have seen on a factory shotgun. I miss that shotgun, even though I never could hit anything with it. 0 -
Remington uses a code for 870's It's a letter code that tells the year. I don't have my reference material here, but any Bluebook has it in the back. 0 -
The "T" is for "trap" & the "B" is the grade/features of the entire gun. Remington also had a TD that had a higher grade wood & was highly engraved; the TE & TF grades also had gold inlays. There were similar upgrades for the skeet line.
Remington barrels are interchangeable. Your shotgun originally had a barrel with a vent rib & beads at the front & back.

This is the old date code, But I date think that that the code is in the the model number. Take the 500 series rifles you have S, SA, T, X and a host of others This is a model and not a date code.0
