They have been out of business since 2000. Never owned one, but understand their firearms didn't have a particularly good following, UNLESS you were into Rap videos or knocking off 7-11's.

All I listened about Intratec was in the negative side. I was at very little to get one but I was adviced the quality was low. I checked a sample and the manufacturing was cheap same with welding jobs and very crude sights. "Instead get a Ruger, Witness or CZ...." I was told. I did it and now I am happy with a Witness among some others.

Intratec made a number of models. Forgeting about the name change because of the now expired ban, the Tec-9 and Tec-22 were the largest models produced. Quality was not their strong suit. Failure to feed was the most common problem. My feeling is that the molded mag chamber was simply too loose to support the mag in the proper position. Inserting the mag firmly and shoving the bottom forward helps. It cants the cartrige upward slightly and helps the feed.
The Cat-9 was an exception. Designed by a retired I.M.I. man, it was somewhat better even though the same company manufactured it.
My wife thinks that I was trying to corner the market a few years ago with the Tecs. The Tec-9's have a strong cult following with gang-bangers and their prices support that.
I would never carry one for personal protection (too unreliable) but my collection has doubled in value in the last 5 years.
