winchester model 61 octagon barrel
I am going to list a Winchester model 61 with octagon barrel in the next few weeks and was wondering what it is worth. It is about 80% to 85%, It is in 22 long rifle built in 1936 and is all orignal.

Yee haw, thats is a good'un pardner. Looking at 1200+. The 5th year or manf. may be worth a little to many collectors too. Just remember this is a handgun market right now. You might be better of to hang on to her till the market regains her senses and you can get a more prospective market. This Rifle can only go up in value. In my opinion it is the best slide action 22 rifle ever made(I'm sure to get hammered for that one). 0 -
last one I bought about 6 months ago on Gunbroker was about 70% and I paid $605. I bought another on {elsewhere}, a reblue, for $800 in a perfect restored state. there is one on auction right now, supposedly a great original example, on {elsewhere} website that is currently holding at $1550. these of course are all oct barrel 22LR. I am a serious buyer of these guns and am looking for more. I would like to find one in 22 short. I have one wrf. and three 22LR. 0 -

$1000 - $1200, and there is always a very good market for collectable Winnies.
tobefree is full of you know what when he states that the Model 61 is "In my opinion it is the best slide action 22 rifle ever made"... everyone else knows that it is really the Model 1890 that holds that title[:D][^]

Title holder true, but I own 3 1890s and 1 61 and a couple of remington m12s. And for my money the m61 is superior. like I said "MY OPINION" 0 -
