Airgun questions

I have been trying to research some airguns here in the States for a friend in the UK. In the UK anything up to and including 4.5 joules of power is considered an airgun. Here in the states we rate ours in FPS. Does anyone know what the conversion would be for a .177 at 360FPS would be in joules? or what the formula would be?

  1 Joule = .738 ft.lbs. To get the answer you will need to know the weight of the paticular .177 pellet.

  Hello, just a question. If an airgun power is higher the 4.5 joules is it considered as...? Weapon, similar to firearm...? What is the limit in UK. Thank you.

  In England, an air rifle of over 12 foot-pounds power requires a firearms certificate.
