Choice for CC
Currently, my CC is a S&W 36; however, for safety purposes, I only keep 4 rounds in this weapon (course, I have always said "if I can't hit my target with 4 rounds, I don't need to carry anyway"). A few years ago I purchased a Colt 380 Pocketlite for the wife and have always liked the physical size, with the added amount of firepower, of this Colt. I have considered purchasing another Colt 380 to replace my S&W; however, the prices on the Colt 380 are "not to my liking".
I read on another post about the Glock 23 and 27; but, I know nothing about the physical size(s) of these Glocks. I would like to have something (physical size) comparable to the Colt 380. I, also, have a 4013TSW; but, again, too bulky (in my opinion) for a CC.
Can anyone give me some comps on the Glock 23 & 27 to the Colt 380 or a possible other choice? Thanks

Take a look at a Kahr PM9(9mm). They also now have a PM40(.40 S&W).
Surprisingly small and a well made firearm. Also the KelTec 3AT which is much smaller, lighter, and less expensive than the Colt. They look cheap but work quite well.0 -
Nothing wrong with that S&W 36, I have been carrying a model 37 S&W for years now and perfer it to anything else I have. Conceals easy, is lightweight and goes bang every time I squeeze the trigger. Have faith in the .38 spl, its plenty enough to get the job done. [:D] 0 -
May I ask why you keep an empty chamber in the 36? Safety and reliability are the reasons why I carry a snubby all the time. I don't see how carrying with all five rounds could be unsafe?

A double action revolver is perfectly safe to carry with all the chambers loaded.
I'd think twice about switching from an S&W Chief to a .380 Auto. Sure, the auto carries more rounds, but the .38 Special has considerably more stopping power than .380ACP.
If you can carry, conceal, and shoot the S&W comfortably (and reasonably accurately), I see no reason to change.0
