Marlin 1894 .41 Magnum

I can't find any references for this caliber being available in the 1894 before Marlin introduced the safety models in 1984. Has anyone ever seen a .41 magnum pre-safety 1894?

    Yes. I purchased one at auction last year. Currently can't tell you year of mfg. I'll check tomorrow if you'd like.

    I'm fairly certain it wasn't available pre-saftey

    CLetus is right. Marlin first started these 1-2 years ago in .41 Rem caliber.

    Marlin made the 1894s in 41 mag starting in 1984 discontinued in 1991, started making them again 2 years ago as the 1894FG

    I suspected as much, but was hoping I was wrong. I have a pre-safety .44 Mag. and .357. I guess if I want a .41, it'll have a safety. Thanks for the responses!

    this is just an idea but since Marlin is making the 41mag again maybe you could buy a barrel , bolt ect. and get a 1894 pre safty in 44mag and have it rebarreled to 41mag

    That had occurred to me, but being half-Scottish and half German, I'm too cheap to spend the extra cash! I know there's an outfit that makes an inexpensive replacement part so you can scrap the safety, but in our litigious society, disabling a safety may not be the best idea.

    well you just have to go with the new one then < I just put one on lay away, Marlin 1894FG 41mag, it was the only one they had and it had set to long so they marked it down $350 plus tax , it will go real good with my Ruger 3 screw in 41
