Curio & Relic License?

It's my understanding that some States and Cities, won't honor Curio & Relic Licenses ( 03 ), i.e. even though a person might have a Federal C & R (03) license they are prevented from receiving firearms considered C & R's by the Feds, because of local State or City statue.

Where do I find a list of these specific Cites and States that won't honor (03) C & R's?, perferably on-line? Thanks.

    Don't think that there is a list. I think that you would need to contact each and every point of sale or ask you buyer to send a signed CLEO letter to the affect the the sale is legal. Good luck.

    I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

    Well, it's not really a list, but the closest that you can get is "State Laws & Published Ordinances - Firearms" (ATF P5500.5); it can be downloaded from the ATF website, or the printed version can be requested. There will rarely be a paragraph that says, "The holder of a Federal C&R may receive the following...." For a specific sale, you will sometimes need to know the recipients city, county, & state, & you will have to wade through the legalese for the entire state looking for what is & what isn't permitted.

    Federal law requires that you comply with all state & local firearms laws, & this book is the only practical way for you to know what they are. No, it's not easy, & I understand why some nonlicensees (& dealers) refuse to ship to anyone but a dealer.

    Can a 01 FFL dealer in New Jersey sell and ship a C&R rifle to a C&R holder in a state [North Carolina] that has no restrictions? Or is it just rifles going INTO Jersey??

    The restrictions are on the location of the receiver, so a NC C&R license holder can receive a C&R firearm from an FFL dealer in NJ.
