Anybody ever hear of American Bulldog pistols? They are old, a friends dad had them. 32 Rimfire stub nose. Any info, and value. Don't know condition.

the captain's information is very good except for a couple of minor points. there were no 41 centerfire calibers manufactured the large bore offering was 44 webley. the partnership between iver johnson and martin bye ended in 1883. after that it waw "iver johnson arms" 1883-1893 and iver johnson's arms & cycle works 1894-1973. the name iver johnson arms or iver johnson maker appeared on very few revolvers as most were only marked with a brand name.
the american bull dog was sold exclusively through j.p. lovell co. boston mass. (retail and wholesale) until 1894 when iver johnson's arms & cycle works took complete control over the distribution of their products. their first catalog was published in 1896. there were two models of the american bull dog first model 1882-1886 (saw handle shapped grip frame) second model 1887-1899 rounded grip frame. some large frame 38,s were remarked model 1900 and sold through 1903. barrel lengths of 4 1/2 and 6 inches were offered with the standard barrel length being 2 1/2 inches. only finish offered was nickel.

My Database says and Matches Balderson's Antique and Modern Firearms Guide 'Eighth Edition'...
The Winchester catalog says it is for Webley and Bull Dog {Double Action} Revolvers....The American Bulldog is a Single Action, Spur Trigger, Solid Frame 5 shooter.....You have the Your Bulldogs Confused...We're talking about the American Bulldog......Not the Webley Bulldog........................
