choke tubes and lead shot

Can I shoot copper coated lead turkey shot through a lead only full choke? If so, is steel shot the only shot you are not suppose to shoot through these chokes? I'm new to the subject.

  Copper coated lead is fine in lead only tubes. What other kind of shot are you thinking of using??

  Didn't really know. I just bought this new turkey gun and wanted to make sure I wasn't going to ruin it by shooting something other than plain old lead shot. Thanks for your help.
