Black Powder sabot bullet fouling ?
My friend has tried shooting sabot bullets in his BP rifle using Pyrodex FFg. The first shot is accurate but successive shots are progressively [grossly] inaccurate. He suspects the sabots are fouling the bore. Any insight into shooting BP sabots ? Is one make better that another or is follow on shot inaccuracy/fouling an inherent problem ?

It is probably the Pyrodex that is fouling the bore.
Try swabbing between shots with a spit patch.0 -
THE PLASTIC SABOT IS FOWLING YOUR BARREL. YOU CAN NOT SEAT YOU BULLET THE SAME AFTER THE FIRST SHOT DUE TO THE PLASTIC BUILD UP. TRY USING CONICALS OR POWERBELT BULLETS. 0 -
try using triple 7 or clean shot with power belt bullets.. I still swab the bore bewteen shots when shooting off the brench just because I want to know what the rifle will do and I figure I'm only going to get 1 or 2 shots out in the field so if it fouls up a little when I'm hunting it really doesn't matter too much ,,
I also carry a small container with patches soaked with bore cleaner with me , so if by some chance i do more shooting when i'm out, i can swab the bore after a couple of shots if i need too
if you think your bore is getting plastic build up make sure you give it a good cleaning with a solvent that will cut the plastic before you try any thing else0
