1886 Winchester Value

My brother is looking at the following:
Winchester 1886 Rifle
Octagon barrel
Antique (pre 1900) serial number
No blue or case colors
Goog bore
Solid wood-unscrewed with
45-90 caliber
Any idea as to value? Thanks.

  "Antique" status means that it is pre 1899.
  
  I really need to see it with my own eyes before trying to closely estimate a value for an essentially "no finish" Model 1886 Rifle. About all I can say at this point is $1000+... how much the + is depends on what it looks like up close.

  Yeah but Bert.....wouldn't you say it could be a real big PLUS on that especially in in .45-90. Beach

  Since it is "unscrewed with" you can figure between 2500 and 4500 for plain wood.
  If the wood is factory checkered add 2500-4500 to the above prices.
