SIG.P239 FBI value

I have a Sig P239 one of 500 from the 2002 winter Olympic in Salt lake. It is engraved and gold filed with FBI and the olympic crest. Can anyone tell me the value? Thanks for you time, Smoky

    You're going to have a tough time getting a value on that one. It's a limited edition and not listed in either the Blue Book or Standard Catalog of Firearms.

    As a collector's item, I suspect it might have more value to a collector of Olympic Games memorabilia than to a firearms collector.

    Sig says 239s and 229s were made with Olympic logos for various law enforcement agencies.

    There was no agengy-specific model, but three years after the fact, and without records immediately at hand, Sig CRS may not know if specific agencies had their own engraved copies, as is inferred by your query.

    During that Olympic event, if your law enforcement agency participated in the event, you were permitted to purchase a copy.

    There is apparently not a huge collector market for the Olympic series within the Olympic memorabilia or LEO collectors, as Sig CSR recalls.

    $500 would be a fine price on a used copy. Anything above that could be limited to the buyer's interest interest in the event or the law enforcement agency working the event.

    As a member has pointed out in similar, previous discussions "What is to stop Sig (any manufacturer" from producing the Limited Series Continuation Run of #501-10,000"

    Thanks very much guys for all your help. It is a very nice little weapon and new in the box. As I recal, they had a table with about 4 agency ingraved Sigs. FBI, Secret Service, US marshals and Utah State police. I hoped it would make me some money someday.
