Posting pictures (NMYERS)

Hey Neal,
I got some instructions from you about a week ago for posting pictures. I just posted one on the General Discussion board. Look at it when you get a chance and let me know what you think. It looks OK, but is a little big. Any suggestions?

    No offense meant. Don't want to hi-jack this thread addressed to Neal. But your problem is quite common. You have to make your picture smaller by using "Photo Editing Software". Such as Photoshop Elements or something similar.

    I'm not sure if any of the web-based photo sharing sites have any of the "Photo Editing Software" embeded as resident programs, perhaps they do?

    I appreciate it rufe. I am new at posting pics and any info is helpful/appreciated. I just posted some pictures of my reloading setup on the reloading forum and I tried to reduce the size and they came out tiny. I'll get this thing figured out sooner or later. Thx.

    I appreciate the assist from rufe-snow. You should have some kind of photo editor software that came with your digital camera. The only way I have found to reduce the size of the posted photo is to resize it before I upload it to the photo host site; With MGI Photosuite, I select Image, then Resize, & select a smaller image.

    You may have to look for something similar in your photo editor.

    Like nmyers, I resize my pictures before I upload them. Nearly every printer and scanner comes with some sort of photo program. I try to size mine to about 400X600 pixels.

    Keep after it, most of us like pictures.[^]

    In Photobucket, right above your pic there is a box marked "edit" Click it. I think the second box down is a re-size box. Select the 75% NOT the "preset" 50% and it usually fits just right here. PREVIEW it before posting here. If it does not fit yet, repeat as necessary, using the 75% rule.

    The gene pool needs chlorine.

    I'm still trying to post pictures. I don't have a photo post site. I thought there was a way around that.

    Photobucket is probably the most commonly used host by folks on this board. DO NOT post directly from a link to your computer, that is inviting hackers.
