Colt side by side 1878
I got a colt 1878 and I was wanting to know how much I could sell it for on gunbroker. I got a really good deal on it, but I have no need for it. Some of the wood around the hammers is missing, but it is in good condition for how old it is.

Its really tough to make a call on a gun that you can't get your hands on....
Lets put it this way....A Colt Model 1878 Standard in Excellent Condition is Worth in excess of $3000.00.... A Colt Standard in the condition You discribe would never come close to that figure due to the fact that the Butt Stock is Missing Wood and would require a Master Stock Maker to Build a New Stock for it....Also the sentence that says 'and I quote'... {but it is in good condition for how old it is}... leaves a lot unsaid....Define the actual condition for Me/Us...Is it Rusty, Pitted, Scratched, Dented, Bent, What are the Bores like? Have the Barrels been Cut? Condition of what You have is everything....Truthfully....I'd be surprised to see this gun bring $250.00............If any History was known and could be substantiated the Value could go up.......Best.......
