Saiga/Galil mags

I was told by someone that the 308 Saiga will take Galil magazines. Anybody know for sure.

  I believe Krebs Custom was converting 308 Saigas to use Galil mags. Galil mags are getting expensive fast. I can't find 25rd galil 308 mags anymore for under $50. CDNN has 12rd Galil 308 mags cheap. If you have a 308 Saiga, I'd stock up on those 12rd mags quick.

  The Saiga .308 will not take a Galil .308 magazine without some significant modification to either the receiver or the mag. The mag well on the Saiga is too narrow in the front and too wide in the back. I tried one on a Saiga today. I'm not saying that it can't be done, I'm just saying it isn't going to be a drop in fit. As for feeding once its in there, that will be the next hurdle.
  
  Oh and BTW, the high cap Galil .308 mags have always been expensive, during the ban it wasn't uncommon to find them well over $100 each. The low cap ones weren't bad then or now. Even before the ban they were expensive. I don't remember them ever being cheap.
