ak47 bare receiver/amd-65
i am wondering if any one knows two things.
1. if i have a amd-65 gun kit can i just purchase a stripped lower receiver and build it.......and also is it compatible with all ak47 style lower receivers?
2. where can i find a good stamped or milled bare receiver for the ak47, if i can build on it with the amd-65 hungarian gun kit?

Well, for building guns you have to have a minumum # of american made parts. Not too sure what that number is tyhough. Also, I belive the barrel of the AMD is too short by itself to be legal, so you need a flash hider/compensater to make up the full length. 0 -
Section 922(r) requires 5 US made parts if using a folding stock. The AMD would require an extended muzzle brake (Tapco sells one for $24.99). It would have to be "permanently" attached, spot weld. With this setup and 5 US parts, you would have a legal AMD with a 16" barrel. 0 -
Another way to go is to start with a brand new receiver. Then you can make an AK pistol using the 65 short barrel.
